Abstract763)      PDF (1118KB)(788)
Objective To identify the genotype and analyze molecule characteristics of main Hantavirus in Fujian port. Methods Nested RT-PCR was used to detect Hantavirus-specific nucleic acid sequences in rodents captured in Fujian port, and M segment was sequenced and analyzed in positive samples. Results A total of 839 rodents were trapped in Fujian port in 2010. Rattus norvegicus was the dominant species accounting for 58.52%. The positive rate of Hantavirus in captured rodents was 5.84%, which were all of Seoul Virus (SEOV). Hantavirus positive species were mainly R. norvegicus (8.96%) and R. tanezumi (3.09%). Generally, Hantavirus infection significantly increased during winter and spring. The phylogenetic analysis based on partial M segment (nt2001-2301) sequence in 25 samples indicated that there were two genetic subtypes, Seoul 2 and Seoul 3. Conclusion Seoul 3 is the main hantavirus subtype carried by rodents in Fujian port.

Abstract918)      PDF (856KB)(761)

Objective To confirm whether one-time deployment of bromadiolone is effective in seaport rodent control. Methods Indoor and outdoor rodent density was investigated both indoor using powder tracking and night-trap Methods after saturated deployment of bromadiolone baits. Results The killing rates were 37.26% and 95.10%, in Mawei port, Fujian and in Dongjiang port, respectively. Conclusion One-time saturated deployment of a rodenticide in a sufficiently large area may yield satisfying killing effect.

Abstract994)      PDF (343KB)(912)

【Abstract】 Objective To explore the value of isozyme zymograms in the classification of blackflies and accumulate basic biochemical data for the study of phylogenesis. Methods EST isozymes of three blackfly species were studied by discontinuous PAGE techniques. Results Ten isozyme bands could be identified according to the electrophoresis zymograms. The differences of zymograms were significant between three blackfly species and each species had its own special zymogram. The main band among intraspecific individuals or between the larvae and pupae was alike, however, other enzyme bands were different. Conclusion EST isozyme zymograms could be used as one of the classification characteristics of blackflies.

Abstract1260)      PDF (175KB)(945)
Objective To study the pathogenic bacteria of Blattella germanica intercepted and captured in ports of Fujian province. Methods Bacteria were separated with selected culture medium, and then identified by PCR amplification, sequence analysis of 16S rRNA gene fragments. Results Five species of conditional pathogenic bacteria were detected, they were Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella ornithinolytica, Proteus vulgaris, Aeromonas veronii and Serratia marcescens based on the sequence homology more than 98% comparison with the published sequences. Pneumonia, abscess, peritonitis, meningitis, endocarditis and blood poisoning could be caused by these pathogenic bacteria. And one of them was deathful. Conclusion There are many conditional pathogenic bacteria in Blattella germanica intercepted and captured in ports of Fujian province.
